21 Day Purge, 21 Item Toss
Hello, I recently decided I want to fit into my current space. My husband and I are in the middle of a huge life shift. Our original plan was that I’d go to college, get a degree, and then get a job. However, after having our daughter it soon became obvious that if we stuck to this plan I would be miserable. My whole blog is dedicated to going into this further. So, if you’re interested in hearing about my journey, I invite you to read my Welcome and other articles. However, to achieve this new life idea, I wanted to learn to live where I am. So, now I have to fit all of our stuff into a 1 bedroom apartment. Mind you I come from not one but two hoarders in training. In fact, my brother is an actual hoarder. So, follow me on a 21 Day Purge as I do a 21 item toss (or donate) per day inspired by Clutter Bug on YouTube.
Day 1 – Bathroom
I was not too excited to purge my bathroom. I am one of those people that like to keep a consistent rotation on toiletries, for fear of expiration and/or contamination. However, I was glad to be done with the few items that hide away in my heart and would not let me throw them away. I really can’t wait to continue this purge. I should have taken pictures of my apartment before but I never did, sigh. It was pretty much a storage bin with food and water layered in here or there. I am proud of the journey I am making and can’t wait to spread it to other areas of my house.

Day 2 – My Clothes
This felt so darn good. I am so ashamed that I kept such horrible clothes in my wardrobe. I’m starting to realize that wardrobes are suppose to be evolving. I grew up without a lot of money and having a lot of clothes was just not an option. So, now I consider large amounts of clothing a luxury but it really isn’t. Maintaining high quality clothes that make you happy are a luxury. I am now committed to quality and not quantity in all aspects of my life. If you want to work towards being happy and healthy, I suggest you look at your wardrobe. We are stuck in our clothing for almost 24 hours. We should love what we’re in. Maintaining all that clothing is a chore I no longer want.
